Say goodbye to factory heat exchanger failures. Our billet heat exchanger is a direct bolt-on replacement for your 2003–2009 Dodge Cummins and was engineered to solve the common issue of internal failure that causes coolant and transmission fluid to mix—often leading to serious transmission damage.
This plug-and-play unit is fully compatible with stock trucks and installs using your existing hardware—no extra fittings or lines required. Just remove the factory exchanger and drop ours in. It’s that simple.
Why did we build it?
- After hearing countless customer stories of factory units failing and causing milky red fluid to contaminate both the transmission and the cooling system, we knew there had to be a better solution. Our billet design eliminates all failure points—no welds, no crimped tubes—just solid, precision-machined aluminum. Coolant flows through one side, transmission fluid through the other, and they never mix. Guaranteed.
Why not just bypass the heat exchanger?
- It’s a valid question, and there’s no universal answer. Dodge installed the heat exchanger for a reason—because it helps regulate trans temps. In warm climates, it pulls heat out of the trans. In cold climates, it helps bring the trans up to operating temp. We’re not here to tell you that you need a heat exchanger—but if you do run one, it better be bulletproof. And now, it is.
How does it work?
There’s a lot of confusion around this, so here’s the quick breakdown:
- Hot engine coolant flows through one side
- Transmission fluid flows through the other
- In warm weather, if trans temps exceed coolant temps, the system cools the transmission fluid
- In cold weather, the coolant helps warm up the transmission fluid
